YES, here we go: Vegan Round Two!! Ready, Set, SAVE SOME ANIMALS! YEAH! Oh, and if you're wondering what those words are in the subject line, they're french, since I'm ya know, I'm learning it now. So expect a lot more french references this time around...like how france makes super...creamy.... delicious... scrumptious... mmmm.....cheese....
Unfortunately I didn't get to repeat a cheese egg binge the night before due to an important meeting at the newest bar in Franklin Village, Franklin & Company and I have to say, it's my new favorite bar on that strip....you know out of the three that are on it. I really liked the atmosphere, ambiance, layout, music not too loud but loud enough. Food & Drinks decently priced. BIRDS, I'm OVER YOU!
Of course I had to pick going vegan on MONDAY BAGEL DAY at the office. Mmmm muffins, bagels, extra cream cheese...no, NO SASSY NO! But they're so good! NO. SAVE. COWS. TU-LE PEUX FAIRE! Yup, commitment has been made and willpower strengthened. Lets do this.
But I decided not to be an idiot on day one and give up, found the will power and made myself a NOM peanut butter and jelly bagel. Also, was sure to pick the least shiny bagel as some places put egg wash on top for that extra pizzaz. Lets just go with, sure that's probably vegan.
Insert in depth discussion of weekend end with Michele my bell, honestly the gods could not have placed two more compatible girls to sit next to each other to multi-task, work our butts off, while somehow simultaneously gossiping the entire time. Don't worry, everything said is strictly confidential to the sanctity of our enclosed space. Violation of desk sanctity is the sin upon sins!
For lunch we had "Simple Things." It was a safe starter as I ate there before last time I made this terribl..y easy choice. And once again, it did not disappoint! They were also super chill in terms of service, so always give a place points for that.
I got the Vegan Po'Boy with pan seared tofu, pickled onions, arugula, vegan remoulade, a side of roasted Brussel sprouts? YEAH. You got one happy french red head here. It's cool to discover all these actually delicious meals that don't involve any dairy whatsoever, who knew? This girl sure didn't.
Then of course there was snacking later in the day. Which is where this becomes a little difficult due to the fact it's way harder to just grab something and go to town on it, since now everything I pick up I have to spend 5 minutes reading a label telling me a list of ingredients I don't even know half of. But nommy chips were found...and speaking of NOMMY, I'd like you to meet the newest addition to the family, Beta Fish: Nom Nom, Little Nommy for short. Say hi Nom Nom!
That concludes day one of Sassy Vegan Land, now I'm off to go learn some french in Santa Monica, write Episode 5 of my webseries, workout, practice more french and tear into another chapter of "A People's History of the United States." Woof. Yeah, totally possible to get that all done before midnight.....
I leave you with this adorable picture of a cat and a chicken.
Over and Out.
