So today, Friday the 13th, I embark on an epic mission which is driving Mary's car to work in the rain...while listening to shitty music (since I only know one radio station) and fighting the urge to yell at the radio to figure out how to connect itself to my iphone. Since it seems my wife's car is the only prius own by a 25 year old ever to not have a phone hook up to play music.
Not to be deterred I spent part of last night digging through my closet in search of....MIX CDs. And low and behold I did find the last ones I made...in 2005... So we got some Nelly Furtado, some Maroon 5, some Beatles (always), some Ace of Base on there to be ironic. And a remix that I TOTALLY forgot about and love to death that apparently doesn't exist on the internet is a rad remix of "Kiss the Girl." which is now on repeat in my life. Instead I'll just put the real version here.
Today I walked into the office and was greeted by a box of DELICIOUS looking bites of HEAVEN. I hate you. I hate you, you tempting jerks! UGHH, What IS this. EFF OFF. yeah, that's my friday anger for ya.
Also combined with this rain. RAIN. RAIN. RAIN. RAIN. When. Will. It. Stop. Raining. What is this weather???
Winter Yetti. I'm looking right at you.
For Lunch we had East India Grill, and I'm going to give it a big C-. A couple times I called them up and they were moderately rude on the phone. This time, not only did this happen again, the driver was late and stiffed us of different sauces and white rice. The food was also super thick and just all around meh.
So we're switching indian places to some place named Anarkali Indian, recommended by a friend. Also, if you have any food recommendations of different places to try in LA, please send them my way!
As everyone teetered out to take on their raining weekend, something magical happened...the rain STOPPED. Just in time for me to drive an absurd amount all over the place! Don't be fooled though. It was still cold as hell and looking moderately ugly with palm frawns everywhere.
Dry cleaning done, more car errands done. Now off to LAX to pick up the one and only Micah returning from his adventures in Italia. Now, as I very rarely drive on the freeway I thought I would do the safe thing and take side streets there. But by the time I got to the ten and Ace of Base not so ironically came on my mix CD I said, "FUCK IT. LETS DANCE." ...then I missed the exit.
Postscript: Turns out the song I was listening too wasn't even Ace of Base...but instead some chick named Gina G. I don't feel like going back to change because that photo of ace of base is boss, instead take a moment to groove out to this song like I did:
Not to worry though, I did make it to LAX by route of freeway....which made me 10 minutes early and suddenly PARCHED (probably from all that speeding to 90s groovetastic music) SO parched in fact that I texted my friend who had just spent 22 hours traveling to ask him to buy me water. Immediately after I sent that I realized that was ridiculous and went on a quest for Agua.
I reached a Carl's Jr. and ended up buying fries...sorry hippies, I succumbed to the man. The thing is I didn't even want the fries...I didn't even want the diet coke. I just wanted a free thing of water and thought that if I did the drive through for that they might tell me to fuck off.
So 1 vegan french fries I don't want, 1 soda I moderately want and one water I make Micah hold 60% of the drive back to Los Feliz then go back to east some DELICIOUS thai food with Micah from SANZAB.
Omg.
Like. Omg. This place. SO GOOD. This is my new place. THIS PLACE.
NOT OPEN UNTIL 5?!?!?! Ugh, that means I can't order for the office. DAMMIT.
Oh well. I had some nommy yellow curry tofu, some nommy vegetable dumplings, brown rice, hot sauce....mmmmm vegan food.
Thai, battlestar, beer. That's it. That's all you need.
Over & Out.
