It's official! One whole week of being vegan and I have not caved!! Woot Woot! Look at me go, just changin' the world, one veganise sandwich at a time!
Let's start with last night, I went to Bar Lubitsch with Emily & Kristen and it was SO MUCH FUN! Holy god, I am now officially a fan of that place. At first I almost didn't even go because the line outside was Bullshit with a capitol B. Two lines that moved slower then a turtle, while all the girls in short skirts walked up and got let in. I however was in no mood to heckle and also wearing the yetti vest, not a "come fuck me" skirt. Blahblah Complain about LA, blah blah superficial, blah blah.
Why was this bar fun? The secret back room of course! F*cking dance central over in West Hollywood. Emily got hella pissed though when some drunk person slammed in to her and made her spill half of her mint vodka whatever it was drink. But if you don't mind dealing with sweaty 20 somethings (and a few older peeps who are trying to look like 20 somethings), go here on a weekend. I might even persuade the two to re-join me this friday, especially considering my peacoat is still living in one of their cars...
For brunch we went to Desert Rose, which is a TOTALLY understated restaurant. Like just down the street is Home Los Feliz (which I've already been over) which was jumpin packed, and then Desert Rose only had a few people. I mean dude, Mandy Moore likes this place (it's a true story, I totally saw Mandy Moore there with Al & Sabrina) And I mean if Mandy Moore likes a place, then it's totally worth going.
And of course the worst part of brunch was sitting across from a bunch of fucking eggs. No the eggs weren't fucking, but there was just a lot of them covered in delicious hollandaise sauce. But as I wiped the drool off my face I enjoyed a delicious falaffel sandwich, salad and french fries. And wouldn't you know it, we learned that Tahini sauce is in fact vegan! It's a paste from sesame seeds...who knew!
Finally by the time I was able to get home I was still 2 hours behind everything that I needed to do. AH. Get writing done, get blog done, clean room, learn french, run errands, plan out week, go over pre-production stuff. So busy that I didn't have time to run to the store, but oh my god, thank goodness I bought a bucket of Aunt Amy's soups to feed my hunger! No time, NO TIME!
Then of course, conclude the day with more DOWNTON ABBEY SEASON 2!! yesyesyesyes. Bethany came over and we went to nom town on some champagne and fancy dressed british people. I loved it, we totally giggled like little school girls everytime cousin Matthew popped on the screen. And what now he's engaged to some Lavinia? WUTEVER! Marry MARY already cousin Matthew, you're being stupid and you're gonna die in the trenches!!
And now we approach yet another 7 days of no cheese....no delicious, delicious cheese. Yes I will go put some soymilk in my tea.
Over and out.
