Day 2

Sad day about this, I left my phone at home, so no digital camera aka Sassy Vision pics of what's going on in the world. (Until tonight that is when Sabrina, Sammi & I destroy a Christmas tree) Yeah, I did keep the tree up until January 3...you got a problem with that? Maybe I just want Christmas to last forever okay?

How am I feeling? Energy level is good, motivation is good, craving is not there. Now it's time to get up and enter the real world with this. Oh and what's that? The real world is doing the same? Check out this cool link that just came out! No Meat? No Dairy? No Problem.

Cool things I've discovered while researching this stuff out is a few vegan Snacks: Fritos for instance, who saw that one? Nature Valley Peanut Butter Bar? Yup. Although I had my blonde moment of the day last night when I went to google, "Are egg rolls vegan?" took a beat and realized that was incredibly stupid.

I'm finding a really good (and obvious) staple of this is fruit & vegetables. I think I've consumed more of them in the past two days then I have in the past two months. Gimmie peppers, carrots, celery, apples, mangos, oranges, GIVE ME THEM ALL!!!

So today for lunch I got some hummus & grape leaves, Which by the way boys and girls, my anonymous Main Squeeze would like it made clear that if I'm going to blog about his palette to the internet, that he does in fact like hummus. So in case you were wondering, there's that.

For work today I ordered food from Pita on Vine, and I have to give this place a moderate thumbs down. It was just kind of bland, like, meh, hummus, whatever. Plus the delivery guy was 20 minutes late. So No, I do not recommend. And while we're on that subject...

Re: Hummus. Now I have eaten my fair share of hummus in my life, and this hummus was just kind of blah. I am stoked though that hummus is in fact vegan AND so are grape leaves and that is pretty much awesome. It's like a magical gift from the middle eastern universe!

However, if you are looking for some dank hummus in the LA area, I would go to Carousel or Papa Cristo's. Now, if you want some DANKITY DANK DANK hummus, I'm going to tell you where to go: Lebanese Taverna

But before you run to put on your jackets, I have to let you down, it's in Arlington, Virgina. Wampwamp. I know you just got super excited, so sorry about the commute everyone who doesn't live there. But no, for serious, if you have the means in your lifetime, GO TO THIS MARKET. It's all super cheap, super delicious and super worth it.

It was two blocks from my middle/high school H-B Woodlawn (best school ever), sat this mecca, this heaven in the form of a market, and us kidz, we nomed the shit out of that place. My bestie Elise (RIP, love) and I used to combine our chump change into the perfect $7.00 meal, a medium sized container of hummus, pita packet (heated up of course), throw in 2 cheese Fatayers, you make two 15 year old girls very happy.

To end day two of saving the earth, I felt it only appropriate that Sabrina, Sammi and I kill a tree. Well...it was already killed in December. But we disposed of it's remains. Boys & girls, it seems the holiday season is over. :( :(
