The time has come the walrus said for you body to start realize that you are changing your lifestyle. It was weird I woke up and felt just a little bit woozy, although didn't have any cravings for anything. In fact I woke up with a glass of vanilla soy milk on my mind. But I know my stomach is asking a big "WTF?!?!" since a large part of my diet used to be strictly eating cheese and crackers and then more cheese and then extra cheese on the cheesey cheese. YEAH CHEESE!
I still haven't really had the time to get down and dirty with some vegan recipes, I've just been too busy, like soooo busy. Oh man, just a super duper busy gi-Sorry, that's a straight up lie, in reality I HATE COOKING is the truth. Absolutely, positively despise it. If I could I would use my oven for storage of all the take out condiments I've collected over the years, cause my cabinet is overflowing with soy sauce packets and there just ain't enough room now with all these aunt amy's soups I just bought.
Soon I know I'm going to have to man up and cook something and it will turn out terribly, not because it's vegan and will taste bad, but because I will end up burning the entire kitchen to the ground and then I won't have a place to live because I'll be evicted...FOR BURNING DOWN THE KITCHEN. The last time I tried to cook was this mushroom burger thing, where you put a bunch of shit on a portable mushroom and stick it in the oven. I ended up smoking up the ENTIRE house and setting off ALL the smoke detectors and then the house smelt like mushrooms for a week. Wamp wamp
Anywho, about day 3. Today was a sad day at work today because it marks Sabrina's last day interning at HELLO! & Company which means she's leaving for the east coast on Friday. NOOoOoOooOoOOOooOOOOOOOooOO Sabrina don't go!! Life's better when you're here in LA and here at work!! Boo. Well, the silver lining is next time she comes out here in April she will FINALLY be here to stay. Sabrina, I will miss you dearly :( sending you love through the blog <3 <3 <3
For lunch at work today I got Home - Los Feliz, a restaurant I am quite fond of. Now, I'm not saying it's the best food that graced gods green earth, but it certainly gets the job done with a zing. Dining is is super cool there, FYI. It's mostly outside, has a really neat fountain and a great ambiance. Totally a cool spot to go on a casual date or a group of friends. And it is VERY Brunch Awesome. Check it out if you can!
Before I crossed over to vegan, I used to always get the Mexican Taco Salad there which had "fresh romaine lettuce, chopped cabbage, corn, black beans, red onions, tomatoes, bell peppers and monterey jack cheese. tossed in ranch dressing and garnished with tortilla chips and our spicy taco seasoning." mmmmm add some Soy Chicken. SUPERBOMB. Convinced Sabrina to get it today and she liked it too! Although she agreed with me, it's super filling. (two meals for the price of one! double win)
Sadly, I don't have a photo of it, so I'll just put up a photo of Sabrina trying to give wine to a stuffed animal.
This time around I got a DELICIOUS spinach salad: grilled, tomatoes, red onions, artichokes and baby spinach tossed in balsamic vinaigrette (take off the goat cheese). Me and the other vegan at work got it and oh man, if you wanna eat Vegan, this is the salad to eat for the grilled tofu alone... Nom freaking Nom.
And while we're mildly on the subject of awesome friends, I'd like to give a major shout out and buckets of love to my wifey Mary who I just saw. Yeah you read that right, WIFEY. For the record, No I'm not married, yes we did have a wedding, No I'm not gay, yes I am married on facebook. If you want the deats on our on again off again marriage check out a blog she wrote on it here)
Anywho wifey came over last night to tape an audition. Guys side note, Mary is super talented, I feel honored to know someone who is such a great actor. (awwww) She has acted in all my films and I plan to have her been in all the rest forever and ever! Yay!
Mary is such a good friend and wifey that she TOO is giving up cheese just to go along with me. We are in this together! It's nice to know that when I get a late night craving for a cheese on cheese sandwich I can text her and she will veto my impulse to drive to Jersey Mikes. Mmmmmmmmmm, jersey Mikes. Wait must change subject now before...I drive all the way to Santa Monica...past Jersey Mikes....
NO IM NOT GOING TO DO IT.
