Jour Trois

Pardonnez-moi for the day break, I spent more time then deserved being angry at a certain ex-boyfriend yesterday morning and figured to prevent myself from writing a super long rant about how he's a ly....you know what, he doesn't even deserve blog space. Never mind. Moving on :)

Today I woke up, very much not wanting to get out of bed at all. You know those days (most days) when it's just like noooooo, moreeeee sleeeeeep. But my alarm clock knows me all too well. At 7:15 sharp, entirely not planned I was awoken by the sound of the title sequence track for Downton Abbey playing SUPER LOUD, and if there's one song that's gonna get you up and going to start your day....

Yeah, this is becoming a thing now. Oh Mary & Cousin Matthew, YES! They're engaged! Finally!! Yeah, may have got teary eyed in that snow scene. So what's next? Spring Wedding? Summer Wedding? And what of Pomook? Oh MY!

So I woke up, said "Frack me!" and realized that I was cross referencing epic television shows and that I truly am single. WHO CARES! Thanks to my other equally (almost...well not legally) single friend Micah Brenner for this new addiciton. Whatever I'm only on episode 10 of battlestar galactica after...like two weeks...sure two weeks...Btw, do these people ever make it to earth? Don't tell me (I;ve already read the wikipedia page, you can tell me)

In addition to waking up to an epic soundtrack, first notification on my phone was a sweet e-card aplogy from Brett. (remember him from vegan go around one.) Anyway, he and I had an epic april fools plan that went NO WHERE cause he dropped the ball. Ah well, there's always next year...muahaha. Anyway, thanks for the card brett. This ones for you:

For breakfast this morning I was ferociously hungry after working out late last night, So I went re-uinted with my old friend "Earth Balance whipped butter" and had me some toast, Go Lean crunch and soy milk. And honestly, it really doesn't taste any different. Why is this so easy this time around?

Today it was established as well that my half birthday party will be at Mohawk Bend. Yeah, half birthday. I mean why just have one? I had three parties last year, might as well make it an even four! right? You're only 25 once then it's over the hill you go into retirement...at least I think that's how it works.

I was going to order some restaurant called "the Flowering Tree" but there was no answer on their phone which just leads me to the conclusion their a commie hippie cult with a name like that and no messaging service. So instead I went to try Hugo's. and Oh. My. God.

YES.

yes x TWO

Okay, if you haven't been, you just gotta. Stop reading this blog right now and go nom there! I mean this place was delicious!!!! (Soo many exclamation points) I got an epic asian stir fry: grilled, marinated organic tofu, snow peas, fresh tomatoes, broccolini, mushrooms, jicama, green onions, cilantro and a mild sesame-chili sauce served with a rice. Half an egg roll....MMMMMMMMMMMMM

Seriously, I did not know vegan food could taste like this. Imma get preachy right now and say, world, go vegan, eat bomb food. It's worth it and delicious. Wow, words of knowledge to little meat eating sass: You might end up staying vegan 4life.

I wonder now that I have no relationship drama to fill this blog with, what am I supposed to use to take up space? Maybe I'll go on a political rant at some point in the near future (like tomorrow) or perhaps I'll just talk more about television mini-dramas. The point being, as a single, I now have infinitely more time to actually do things I want to do, instead of doing whatever someone else wants...which is pretty nice, in a weird way. I can learn french, brush up on history, take up new hobbies, travel, the world is my freaking oyster!! Yeah!! BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!

And speaking of things I want to do...you know what I want for dinner? F*cking VEGAN MAC N CHEESE. Yeahhhhh. From Hugos of course, wow. That was so good it almost tasted real...I think...I don't know. I asked for vegan. Let's hope I didn't just accidentally eat a cow.

Remind me to go on a rant about our education system re: my experience taking french class at Santa Monica college. I can't believe the standard of education our country has allowed itself to sink too. But perhaps not best to go on rant when I'm about to fall asleep all over this computer.

I leave you with this:

Over and out.

Chicken: Round Deux

Well, it's happening again. And this ain't no April fools.

Would like to personally thank my friend Sabrina for this kick in the butt of inspiration. We just went to brunch at The Alcove and when I told her I got the cheesey egg French Vegetarian Panino she made a face and goes, "Wait, you're not Vegan anymore?"

I thought about what she said long and hard...then I thought about the daily show skit I just saw about meat processing, then I thought about the movie Food Inc I just saw, then I thought about how I lost ten pounds the last time I did it, then I thought about how I'd been waiting for an awkwardly extended period of time for the bathroom and if the person in there stayed any longer I might just not eat ever again if my mind kept going like this.

So I take the pledge, I, Sassy Mohen will be going Vegan starting tomorrow for the next 30 days. Welcome back to my ever on-going battle with my love for dairy vs. my personal hopes and wishes for the food industry.

Same game, same rules, new(ish) player, My hairs red now, my life's way busier, no longer with "the Main Squeeze" a term coined in the first place because he wouldn't let me call him my boyfriend....LADIES can we just stop-..... Nevermind, not going on that tangent (love you MS, Kisses!). ANYWAY, I'm parlez-vous-ing francais to become bi-lingual, saving up for a trip to Rio, debating on what kind of convertible I will buy in 6 months from now...it's all generally groovy here in Sassy land, so I figure, lets spread that vibe to some chickens and let them mellow out as well.

So, excuse me while I go chug a gallon of milk and finish my eggy McCheese leftovers in preparation for tomorrows plunge. OMNOMNOMNOM VEGAN OMNOM ROUND DEUX!

Day 14

Oh no, did I really eat all those onion rings last night? Yeah, yeah you did Sassy. Yeah...you did.

Welp, looks like I'm working out extra today. Anywho, Sammi & I were supposed to go to vegetarian brunch, BUT by brunch we mean late late lunch, meaning I'm eating some lunch for my brunch. SAMMI, hurry up!

I made some vegan minestrone soup with bread & vegan butter. I dont know if I just bought the wrong kind, but the earth balance butter at work tastes great, whatever "living well" shit I bought tastes super duper blah. But I ate part of it anyway. Honestly, if you wanna do vegan, just buy a shit ton of those Aunt Amy's, I will swear by it forever and ever.

Anywho after some time, some work & some working out, Sammi and I finally went to "brunch" at 3:30. And wouldn't you know it, this is the BEST time to go to brunch because there is no wait, fancy that!

It's back to Home which I have been wanting to go to again since the switch to try the ever illicit "Tofu Scramble." Now, I've never had a tofu scramble, but the idea of a non-egg omlette freaked me out so much I put it in an episode of About Abby just because how can you NOT talk about a Tofu scramble? I mean come on, that's ridiculous!

So we went to home, got said tofu scramble (well I did, Sammi got eggs of some fashion) and let me just say, it was DELICIOUS. I nommed the shit out of that tofu scramble and I am un-apologetic for it. Put some BBQ sauce on it? mmm We also got Bruschetta which is Vegan too!!! yay!!! so many treasures that I am discovering.

After nomminh it was time to do something entirely necessary and that is SPEND LOTS OF MONEY ON CLOTHES. See all this money?? Yeah it's going into fabric! Oh and guess what else, it's NOT EVEN MY MONEY. $$$$$ SHOPPING!!! Oh the sugar daddy that isn't really my sugar daddy but I will gladly accept anyway. Also, special kudos to Sammi for finding me Orange Hat. (photo to come soon) Basically, it & she rock my world.

I mean all an all it was a super productive Sunday, nomming, shopping, then coming home to finish up on my writing then watch movies with my friend Kim? What more could you want from day 2 out of 3 in the three day weekend?

Nothing. That's the answer. I require nothing else.

Whose made it two weeks? This girl has!! And hey, I barely even miss cheese at all!
