Jour Dix-Sept

Trucking on, trucking on, one vegan french over-extended day at a time.

Today, I'm not going to lie, I was hungover. But only half as hungover as I would have been if it were a real birthday party. Sorry, that joke was too easy. ...But also very true.

Oohh, one of my favorite moments in life, looking over and seeing Joey Brown taking jello shots to the song and pace of "Shot, Shot, Shot, ShotShot." Bestbirfdayever25thedition was truly a masterpiece in all forms.

To cure my lack of h20 and whatever else you're lacking when you're hungover, I woke up and made a vegan masterpiece. It involved an english muffin, veganaise, fake ham, lettuce, tomato & a bit of balsamic. Omg. Did. The. Trick. There's your handy sandwich folks.

Honestly, one thing I was worried about when I went vegan was that I wouldn't be able to have a decent sandwich, but I have to say, that really isn't the case. There's so many substitutes and places that can make something similar that options are everywhere. Big fan of Hugos, larchmont & Doughboys to that extent.

Despite any feelings my head might have, I decided to keep going with #impulsefashionweek and really attempt me some rockabilly style. I'm really happy with it too, got lots of compliments, always good for the ego....Sabrina says that she only compliments strangers if she really likes what they're wearing, so thanks everyone! Ugh...this paragraph feels really cheesy. Welp, here's a picture of my hair. hahaha.

And what is this blogger? new format? Do I like this? I don't know! AHHH change! Ugh 13 days until I can have cheese. That's all I want right now. Just a big plate of eggs with pancakes and soy bacon in a sandwich inside a sandwich. bahh. The struggle gets more and more difficult each day.

So today was a big day because  I had my first big french test. I hope all of this is paying off...for my grade that doesn't even matter. hahah. But really, I'd like to think I actually know some french by this point, and also because I'm considering taking French 3 next semester just to keep this trend going.

For lunch I ordered from Omi Sushi, a place which I have liked in the past but now am not a fan of. It just came out super bland, and they botched part of our order. Then when I asked them to send over what they forgot, they didn't apologize and acted like I was the one in the wrong. No, no, Omi Sushi. You are the weakest link, goodbye.

So next time we're switched to Kazuko Sushi, a place right down the street from me that I really like. But I'm not sure if that will stick. Guess we'll just have to fine out!

Here's what's awesome, this arrived in the mail today:

I hope that if you're reading this (and live in CA), that you're going to go out and vote on June 5th. Just because it's a small election doesn't mean it's not a big deal. It's SUPER important to make sure we have the right senators in office. And yes, by right I do mean liberal hahah, but I mean, imagine if somehow Dirk Allen Knopik who describes himself as "Christian, Veteran, America. NRA, VFW, American Legion. Will stand boldly for Christ," get's elected. Woof.  Or if Prop 28 gets passed, weakening our senators terms? Or Prop 29 doesn't go through? I mean, why would you vote no to benefit Cancer research, wtf is wrong with you?

Plowed through this french test with mixed feelings. and totally blanked on the freaking word etre. bahh, Sassy, get with it. It's vous etes! Wamp wamp. Sassy, don't epic fail this.

Today however I did come home to....A PURPLE WALL!!! YEAH!!!!  Finally! After a week of having this weird shit on my wall. I am so stoked on it to. Think it came out great!

Omg, so much better, just so much better. It's all zen and shit. Can't wait to go to ikea this weekend to get my new bedstand et all. I'm gonna make my space a grown'd up space even if it kills me. Well...maybe won't go that far. But this is all happening.

Over & Out.

Jour Trois

Pardonnez-moi for the day break, I spent more time then deserved being angry at a certain ex-boyfriend yesterday morning and figured to prevent myself from writing a super long rant about how he's a ly....you know what, he doesn't even deserve blog space. Never mind. Moving on :)

Today I woke up, very much not wanting to get out of bed at all. You know those days (most days) when it's just like noooooo, moreeeee sleeeeeep. But my alarm clock knows me all too well. At 7:15 sharp, entirely not planned I was awoken by the sound of the title sequence track for Downton Abbey playing SUPER LOUD, and if there's one song that's gonna get you up and going to start your day....

Yeah, this is becoming a thing now. Oh Mary & Cousin Matthew, YES! They're engaged! Finally!! Yeah, may have got teary eyed in that snow scene. So what's next? Spring Wedding? Summer Wedding? And what of Pomook? Oh MY!

So I woke up, said "Frack me!" and realized that I was cross referencing epic television shows and that I truly am single. WHO CARES! Thanks to my other equally (almost...well not legally) single friend Micah Brenner for this new addiciton. Whatever I'm only on episode 10 of battlestar galactica after...like two weeks...sure two weeks...Btw, do these people ever make it to earth? Don't tell me (I;ve already read the wikipedia page, you can tell me)

In addition to waking up to an epic soundtrack, first notification on my phone was a sweet e-card aplogy from Brett. (remember him from vegan go around one.) Anyway, he and I had an epic april fools plan that went NO WHERE cause he dropped the ball. Ah well, there's always next year...muahaha. Anyway, thanks for the card brett. This ones for you:

For breakfast this morning I was ferociously hungry after working out late last night, So I went re-uinted with my old friend "Earth Balance whipped butter" and had me some toast, Go Lean crunch and soy milk. And honestly, it really doesn't taste any different. Why is this so easy this time around?

Today it was established as well that my half birthday party will be at Mohawk Bend. Yeah, half birthday. I mean why just have one? I had three parties last year, might as well make it an even four! right? You're only 25 once then it's over the hill you go into retirement...at least I think that's how it works.

I was going to order some restaurant called "the Flowering Tree" but there was no answer on their phone which just leads me to the conclusion their a commie hippie cult with a name like that and no messaging service. So instead I went to try Hugo's. and Oh. My. God.

YES.

yes x TWO

Okay, if you haven't been, you just gotta. Stop reading this blog right now and go nom there! I mean this place was delicious!!!! (Soo many exclamation points) I got an epic asian stir fry: grilled, marinated organic tofu, snow peas, fresh tomatoes, broccolini, mushrooms, jicama, green onions, cilantro and a mild sesame-chili sauce served with a rice. Half an egg roll....MMMMMMMMMMMMM

Seriously, I did not know vegan food could taste like this. Imma get preachy right now and say, world, go vegan, eat bomb food. It's worth it and delicious. Wow, words of knowledge to little meat eating sass: You might end up staying vegan 4life.

I wonder now that I have no relationship drama to fill this blog with, what am I supposed to use to take up space? Maybe I'll go on a political rant at some point in the near future (like tomorrow) or perhaps I'll just talk more about television mini-dramas. The point being, as a single, I now have infinitely more time to actually do things I want to do, instead of doing whatever someone else wants...which is pretty nice, in a weird way. I can learn french, brush up on history, take up new hobbies, travel, the world is my freaking oyster!! Yeah!! BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!

And speaking of things I want to do...you know what I want for dinner? F*cking VEGAN MAC N CHEESE. Yeahhhhh. From Hugos of course, wow. That was so good it almost tasted real...I think...I don't know. I asked for vegan. Let's hope I didn't just accidentally eat a cow.

Remind me to go on a rant about our education system re: my experience taking french class at Santa Monica college. I can't believe the standard of education our country has allowed itself to sink too. But perhaps not best to go on rant when I'm about to fall asleep all over this computer.

I leave you with this:

Over and out.
