Jour Huit

Wake up and I'm still in the Valley. AHHHHH!!!! Just kidding, it's not that bad. This house rocks, it's the rest of this town that freaking creeps me out like no other...Why, why are cars so big and so gas guzzling necessary? Why so much bag jeans and trashy hair do's?

Anyway, wake up, say goodbye to dog and go on my merry way to work. While driving count my blessings that I live literally five minutes from my office. Since other people can multi task on their phones while hitting the road in their four wheels, I would lose an infinite amount of time driving around on the scoot if I had to go further.

Today it has been decreed that I'm going to re-decorate my entire room. I figure if I'm going to be 25 1/2 on Tuesday, I might as well start acting like a grown'd up and have a grown'd up place aka, get rid of all my college furniture...which is all of it....

I'm going to do a whole new color scheme, no more ugly depressing black, red and white. We're going lavender purple, yellow & white. YEAH. Maybe some orange thrown in there as well. a touch of green. BAM. It's going to take all summer, but I'm up for the challenge.

This monday resisting Monday Wonderful Cheesy Bagel day was actually very easy. I'm finding the further into this I go...the less I want to eat dairy. Does that make me crazy??? Maybe...I haven't had a real craving though. In fact I feel a lot healthier, despite you know...eating a shit ton of carbs yesterday on national "I'm hungerover day." (word misspelled on purpose)

Easter Hungover Owl

Let's also take a moment to give observance to the nommy vegan cookies that ended up in the office today.

One thing I did today was help construct step one of the epic Sassy overhaul that is happening to my career starting RIGHT NOW (well started a few weeks) ago. And epic step one was designing the title page to my site. So many choices, So little time!

Finally this one was picked & I am TRES happy with it:

Woot woot! (Putting up now since these blogs are obviously post-dated and it's already gone online.)

Enough of that, Back to veganism!

For lunch I got EPIC FALLFEL SANDWICH from "Desert Rose." A restaurant which we've already covered re: mob front & Mandy Moore. And I'm STILL convinced is a front for the armenian mob. When I called up the guy took 5 minutes to find a pen to take an order. Literally five minutes. Now this isn't sooo weird, but if you think this is a restaurant that supposedly delivers, and I was calling the delivery line. ....how many places do we really think this delivers too? and why is it always empty?!?

But honestly, my falafel sandwich was BOMB.COM and huge. I attempted to finish it and sadly failed. It's interesting to me that a lot of the great vegan options come from the Middle East & Asia, places that are also so big on meat as well. Dare I say a meal like this makes me want to stay vegan forever? ohhh nooo

After work I came home to the most delightful surprise ever. FREE MONEY!!!

Well not exactly free money, but it was a refund on my taxes. WAHOO! This means I can finally go to the acupuncturist to get my back freaking fixed. It's been in such pain for months and I complain about it all the time like the old person I am. Ugh, I AM a single spinster at 25! NOoOoOOoOOoOo

In other news got through another episode of my webseries. YES. Episodes Intro, & 1-5, DONE. only 6-12 left. Lets see if we can get those all done by Monday shall we?

Honestly, other then that I don't have a lot to report today. In the records of the records this will go down as a day where a lot was accomplished but none of it was sparkling or dramatic, besides the 40 minutes I watched of dreamgirls before I went to sleep.

Hmmm lets make something up then...

I started a diary, got set up with my moms friends son, he turned out to be a prick, then I dated a prick who dumped me for someone skinnier, then the son showed up at my door on my birthday, then got in a fight with the prick, then aliens came and blew up earth.

Yup, that was my monday night.

Over & Out.

Jour Six

And we're currently live from where....where....??

THE VALLEY!!

Weeee.

I tell you what, there are two...no three...no four things that will get me to go over the hill into 818 territory. They are, my friends Luke & Tara who live by Universal, Arclight Sherman Oaks when Arclight Hollywood isn't showing a film, H&M at the Glendale Galleria and Money. Lucky for me I got three of four of those this weekend.

And if you're like Wtf is this bitch talking about, "what's the valley? Hidden Valley? Ranch?" Well for starters, I can't eat that. Two if you want to know, watch that Nicolas Cage movie 'Valley Girl.' Cause we all know, when looking to answers, watch an 80s rom com for knowledge. Ahhh, if only life were always this easy.

Every now and again I house sit for my friend up here who has an awesome lovely home that belongs to him, his wife and daughter. And I bring my 25 year old red headed single "very much do not own a house with a white picket fence," self to gladly help him out and hang out with a rad dog and play grown up. Although honestly. I instinctively always use the little girls plates and utensils just because I feel inappropriate to use all the big kids stuff.

Anyway, today not only did I get the blessing of traveling up to the land of ostentatiously large cars and bad pizza, but I got to get my hair did too! yayayay! I just discovered this really cool, kind of hole in the wall place called Studio 73. It's got decent prices, a great staff, and an all around super cool vibe. Alex, who does my hair always goes out of his way to make sure it looks great...you know in the whole two times I've gone.

Lucky for me while the dye was seeping into my hair, you know, just a pound of chemicals on my scalp....I was able to have another super important conversation with my friend Micah B while he is in Italy during the whole process, before, during & after. Mostly heart to heart, you know:

I can only imagine the conversation we have about this blog too, where he gives me much warrented shit about being obsessed with the dead cells that hang off my scalp known as my hair. Ah well. #bff#bff

THEN oh MAN, I did get to see my friends Luke & Tara for an epic photo shoot with Luke (Luke Wyatt Photography.) We had a ton of fun walking around, being moderately eye stalked by a number of people and having a general fun time. World, If you need photos, GO TO LUKE. He's super talented.

Here, check out the first of the rad photos to come of this:

Just kidding, that's me when I was five. Here's the real photo:

Afterwords had to run back "home" to nom and shower. I threw together one of them mixed salad things from Von's you know, just whatever, whatever. And it was just whatever, whatever until I realized I brought leftovers from Manderette that I put in the fridge and totally space out on.

And while I suffer my rare valley trips, there is always one friend that I call. Well...it's just become a recent tradition, but we both agreed we're okay with it. His name is Elliot, he's an actor, and he's awesome. But don't worry all you men out there dying to date me, it's not like that. Elliot is my college ex-boyfriend's best friend. (we all remember THAT guy, epic fight in San Francisco guy. Yechh).

Elliot and I suffered through some RAD parties back in 2004, 2005, 2006. Basically blowing up LBC, well he and the ex a bit more then me, but suffice to say it was fucking fun. That's how you should get christianed to California ladies and gents. Move here for college, immediately thereafter date a Long Beach native, and spend a year smoking, drinking, partying, dancing, swimming, exploring, hiking, traveling, and somehow in all of this study. Hey man, I got straight A's, the ex got D's and his parents were beside themselves with confusion of how I pulled that off and he didn't. Quitting tangent now before switching to anger....

I think it's funny, well maybe that's not the right word. But there's something interesting about hanging out with someone you've known since you were 18, like something un-spoken between people who you knew when you were younger. And it stretches back further, the longer you've known the person. Keep them friendships. YEAH.

After some dranks we went to Nic's birthday party!! YEAH Nic, Happy Birthday buddy! Party was overall rockin, good people, good tunes, good drinks, good 1990's Nickelodian on TV. (I mean you can't fight that)

Somehow I took it upon myself to take emoticon pictures with my friends. Why this struck me? Who knows. Do we really need to though? Here's the best of:

And bless my lucky stars, I got a veggie burger out of it too. Unfortunately I was too busy sipping a stella and taking photos of people to take a photo of food. Oh well.

Feeling the Zzz's take over.

Over and Out.
